ああ、助かったぁー

先日の大型台風で、緊急事態が起きました。一人住まいの私には大変なことです。

シーカヤック製作の作業小屋がばらばらになってしまったのです。製作中の船に大事は無かったのですが、作業を進められなくなりました。そこで、クラブの仲間たちに事態を報告したところ、数名がすぐに駆けつけてくれ、小屋の危険な個所を解体し、作業途中のカヤックをブルーシートで包み移動してくれたのです。私一人ではこんなに早く処理できませんので、とても助かりました。

その時、私の心に思い浮かんできたのは、「最近、こんなに大勢の人に手助けをしてもらったことはなかったなあ、仲間がいて良かったなあ、良い人たちと出会えたなあ！」ということでした。「遠い親戚より近くの他人」という言葉も浮かんできました。

温かで心安らぐ時間が過ぎていきました。私の喜ぶ顔を見て、クラブの仲間たちも喜んでいる様子です。「災い転じて福と為す」、私は、何か、大切なものを発見したようです。
