　色々な角度・視点から何回も繰り返して物事を見ないと、正しい判断はできない。周囲の環境との絡みをできるだけ多く把握しないと、物事の判断を誤る。しかも、周囲の環境は刻々と変化する。だから、一つの固定した視点からの物言いは、別の視点から見た時、おかしなものになることが多いのである。
例えば、「本当のことを言わないのは悪いことだ」という言い方がある。或る特定の前提に於いて、それは正しい。別の前提に於いて、それは誤りである。窃盗犯が本当のことを言わないのは悪いことだが、知り合いの老人に、挨拶で、「随分老けましたね」などと本当のことを言うのは良くないことだ。

　ギリシャの哲学者、ゼノンのものとされる有名な話に「アキレスと亀」がある。「俊足のアキレスは鈍足の亀に無限に近づきはするが決して追いつくことはできない」という話である。
・・・アキレスが亀を追いかけ、亀のいた地点に到着すると、亀はそれなりにその地点より先に進んでいる。次に、アキレスは、亀が進んだその地点に向かうが、アキレスがその地点に到着した時、亀はそれなりにまた先に進んでいる。このような繰り返しが永遠に続くだけで、アキレスは決して亀に追い着くことはできない。・・・
だが、この話は、アキレスが亀に追いつく寸前までの時間と距離を次々と無限に細分割する前提になっているのだ。

　前提条件によっては、「１＋１＝２」も、おかしなものになる。砂利一杯のバケツと砂一杯のバケツを合わせると、バケツ二杯にはならない。
