　人は、誰でも、人真似をして育つ。そして、人真似には二種類ある。一つ目は、人の持っている何かに共感し、それを真似るものである。この場合は、中身に価値を見つけ出して、それを真似ているのである。これを中真似と呼ぼう。二つ目は、世の中で流行っているもの、有名人がやっているもの、その外形を真似るものである。中身そのものはどうでもよい。皆がやっているから、ただ、それを真似したいのである。これを外真似と呼ぼう。同じ人真似でも、この二つは根本的に違う。

　外から見てこの両者は、区別が付き難い。例えば、サッカーをやりたい少年がいる。この少年は、本当にサッカーが好きなのか、仲間が、皆、サッカーをやっているからやりたいのか、この区別は簡単には付かない。そもそも、半々ということもある。やりたい本人も分からないことが多い。

　外真似も馬鹿にしてはならない。やっている内に、本当に、中身に価値を見つけ出す者もいるからである。「石の上にも三年」、自意識過剰になって、自分探しをする若者には、これを勧める。

　一つ目、即ち、中真似は本物を作る。二つ目、即ち、外真似は偽物を作る。この意味で、嫌がるものを押し付ければ、偽物になるだけだ。世の中には、偽物の人間が圧倒的に多い。親や教育者、そして、社会環境に責任がある。子供を本物にしたい親は、この二種類の人真似について理解を深めて欲しい。世の中に本物が増えれば、世の中は進化し、世の中はさらに面白くなる。

Anyone grows by imitating the others. And there are two types of imitation. The first is to empathize with something that a person has and imitate it. In this case, it finds value in the contents and imitates it. Let’s call this “contents-mimic”. The second is to imitate on the surface what is popular in the world, what celebrities are doing. In this case, the contents themselves do not matter. Everyone is doing it, so I just want to copy it. Let’s call this “surface-mimic”. These two are fundamentally different.

From the outside, it is difficult to distinguish between the two. For example, there is a boy who wants to play soccer. It’s not easy to tell whether the boy really likes soccer or he wants to do it because of his friends’ influence. In the first place, it may be half and half. They often don’t know who they want to be.

Don’t make a fool of “surface-mimic”. It is because there are many people who really find value in the contents while doing it. “Three years on the stone,” I recommend this aphorism to young people who are self-conscious and looking for themselves.

The first one, namely, “contents-mimic” makes the real thing. The second one, namely, “surface-mimic” makes a fake. In this sense, if you force your chldren to do what they dislike, it will make a fake. There are many fake people in the world. Parents, educators, and social environment are responsible to this state. Parents who want their children to be the real thing should deepen their understanding of these two types of imitation. If there are more of the real thing, the world will evolve and the world will become more interesting.
