　理系・文系という概念は、日本人が発明したのかもしれない。他国の人に比べて、直ぐ口にする。この世界が、理系と文系で、明確に２分されている様な印象を与える。理系事象と文系事象は、実際には、絡み合っていて、明確に分離できない。或る前提条件の範囲内に理系事象を閉じ込めて、初めて、この分離は成立するのである。

　「私は理系だから文系のことは理解できません。」、「私は文系だから理系のことは理解できません。」などと言うのは、決して、建設的な発言ではない。「私は、知的に偏っています。多視点に立つ努力を放棄し、思考範囲を狭めています。」と言っている様に聞こえる。 

　理系・文系を超えた分厚い教養基盤の上にこそ、理系であれ、文系であれ、美しい専門の花が咲くのである。
