地球上での繁栄を謳歌する人類は、今、二十一世紀に、新局面を迎えつつある。人類自身が作り出した自然破壊を初めとする数々の問題は、ここ数万年来人類に繁栄をもたらしてきた自然宇宙の循環軌道に変化を与え始めている。今のままの方向で更に社会経済活動を推進すれば、「人類は近い将来自滅する」と断言しても過言ではなさそうだ。

この問題は、単純化して言ってしまえば、人類の約８０％を占めるベース・グループ、自分自身でよく物事を考えずに、周りにある有力なもの・流行りもの・面白そうなものの目先や外見に同調する、所謂、一般民衆の意識レベルがどこにあるのかという点に行き着く。なぜなら、この約８０%が、いつの時代でも最終的に社会の方向を決定することになるからだ。即ち、このベース・グループが、残り約２０%を占める自己の考えを持つ影響力の強い人々の発信する様々な主義主張や意見に対し、これらを自分自身で真剣に捉え、考え、行動し、その結果として、目先の損得から一歩離れ持続可能な社会の構築に向かうようになれば、この差し迫った問題は自ずと解決するのである。

自己の考えを持つ影響力の強い人々には、政治家・高級官僚・企業経営者・学者・芸術家などが多いのだが、人類全体に対し共感意識を持つ者ばかりではなく、巧妙に自己・自己の周りにある集団の利益だけを図る者、犯罪者なども含まれる。近年益々増大するマス・メディアやSNSなどの歪んだ影響の増幅効果も考慮しながら、この分野に焦点を当てた高度な研究が急務である。

ネットワーク・ガイアガイアとは、上記の認識を共有して、人類が永続するために必要な意識レベルに、このベース・グループの大多数が到達することを願って活動する、先にその意識レベルに到達している人々の集まりである。

What is Network GAIAGAIA?

Human beings who enjoy prosperity on the earth are now entering a new phase in the 21st century.  Numerous problems symbolized by the destruction of nature have begun to change the circular orbit of the natural universe which has brought prosperity to humankind for tens of thousands of years.  It would not be an exaggeration to say that “human beings will self-destruct in the near future” if we promote further socio-economic activities in the same direction as they are now.

To put it simply, this problem lies with the base group accounting for about 80% of humankind, which are likely to follow powerful, trendy atmosphere and opinions which they understand easily without thinking deeply.  It is the level of consciousness of this base group that decides whether or not human beings will self-destruct.  This is because about 80% will ultimately determine the direction of society, at any time at any place historically.  In other words, if this base group begins to think seriously about various opinions sent by influential people accounting for the remaining about 20% who have their own ideas and principles, and in addition, if this base group moves away from their immediate gains and losses and moves toward the construction of a sustainable society, this urgent problem will naturally be resolved.

Many of the influential people as above are politicians, senior bureaucrats, business owners, scholars, artists, but they are not only those who have sympathy for the whole human race, but also those who seek only the immediate interests of their own and /or the groups around them. Criminals are included as well. There is an urgent need for advanced research focusing on this field, taking into consideration the amplification effect of distorted information by mass media and SNS etc., which have been increasing in recent years.

Network GAIAGAIA shares the above awareness and works in the hope that the majority of the base group will reach the level of consciousness to moves toward the construction of a sustainable society.  Network GAIAGAIA is a group of people who have reached first to such level of the consciousness.
